HUSUN “TREB” DAVIS
Founder, NXTRUNN
NXTRUNN did not begin inside a venture studio.
It began with a runner paying attention.
Running had become community for Husun “TREB” Davis — the clubs, the travel, the race weekends, the people, the places, and all the experiences that lived around the miles.
Then running stopped.
In Boston in 2025, TREB missed the race’s 5:30 p.m. finish cutoff by three minutes. Later, a fall at a train station sidelined him for nearly eight months. That time away from running gave him more time to build the thing he wanted to return to.
WHEN RUNNING STOPPED, BUILDING DIDN’T.
TREB brought his background in web development and product design to a problem he understood personally.
He designed NXTRUNN.
He built NXTRUNN.
He funded NXTRUNN.
He used AI as a development accelerator while remaining the person directing the product, making the decisions, and building the relationships behind it.
No outside funding.
No giant engineering team.
No inherited audience.
And today, NXTRUNN is available on iOS and Android.
BLACK RUNNERS WERE NEVER MISSING.
The point was never that Black runners needed to be invented.
We were already here.
Running clubs.
Leading crews.
Traveling to races.
Coaching.
Building communities.
Showing up.
What TREB saw was an opportunity for more of that world to be visible, connected, and reflected in the technology around running.
So NXTRUNN was built with Black and Brown running culture in the foundation.
Not added later.
Not brought out for a campaign.
Not treated like a niche sitting off to the side.
